Digital fiction with real-world impact<\/h2><\/div>

Led by digital artists Andy Campbell<\/strong> and Judi Alston<\/strong>, Dreaming Methods is a UK-based studio that creates immersive and compelling fictional experiences through VR, film, digital art and games, with a strong focus on reimagining writing and literacy.<\/p>\n

As an independent studio we create our own projects with a commercial focus to support our growth and sustainability while adding to the creative richness and diversity of the Yorkshire region.<\/p>\n

Our artistic VR collaboration Monoliths<\/a> was shortlisted for the London Film Festival Immersive XR\/Art Award and showcased at many other international film festivals.<\/p>\n

Our latest cross-genre VR experience exploring climate change, displacement and AI is The Abandoned Library<\/a> funded by XR Stories which won the Most Innovative Use of Technology in the Game Republic Awards 2023, Best VR of the Year at the Los Angeles Film Awards in 2024 and the Social Impact Award at SONA Immersive Storytelling Festival in Pittsburgh in 2025.<\/p>\n

Dreaming Methods’ unique and distinctive works are available across multiple platforms and used in schools and universities worldwide as well as providing a focus for academic research.<\/p>\n

Co-Director & Creative Producer<\/h4><\/div>

Judi is the Co-Director and Creative Producer for Dreaming Methods<\/a> and CEO of multi-award winning One to One Development Trust<\/a>. A digital artist and filmmaker, she has been producing films, making collaborative digital fiction and writing for narrative-based video games for over two decades.<\/p><\/div>

A writer, games designer and digital artist, Andy established Dreaming Methods<\/a> in 1999. It's now a multi-award winning studio creating immersive digital stories across a range of platforms. He has also been the Digital Director for the pioneering arts charity One to One Development Trust <\/a>for over 20 years.<\/p><\/div>

Dreaming Methods' founder Andy Campbell has been a supporter, developer, speaker and judge for the New Media Writing Prize<\/a> since its inception in 2010. An international digital writing competition established by Bournemouth University and if:book UK, the Prize is now in it's 15th year. <\/p><\/div>
